Local Initiatives Funding now available

Does your organisation want to develop a project that has the potential to contribute to the City Council’s community outcomes and its Community Development Plan?

Or perhaps you have an idea for developing a new and unique community group? Then the Local Initiatives Fund may be able to assist.

Community outcomes are defined as “things that are important to people” and mean;

• People have lots of fun things to do
• Businesses grow here and people have plenty of job opportunities
• Palmerston North is attractive, clean and green
• The community is supportive and people and organisations work together
• People have lots of learning opportunities.

Raining on Internet Explorer Blues

Whether its the weather (try saying that quickly!) or the fact that I am just too busy to mess around with browser bugs - too impatient to be patient - I am currently having visions of drowning everyone responsible for Internet Explorer. I remember back in the 1980’s when computer gurus promised we would be seeing Standards and were soon heading for cross-browser compatibility. Is it unreasonable to think that 20 years is a long, long time to wait?
