Smith. I was opposed to it right the way through the process but was hoping I would be proven wrong and that the "lantern" would look okay. While I realise mine is a subjective and personal opinion - I just hate the "lantern" (the term used by city council). Considering the controversy surrounding the appearance of a religious symbol on a city landmark, it's rather cheeky to put an even bigger one on top. I'm appalled at the amount it has cost. Surely such money is better spent on roads and footpaths (the latter of which there are few of in Ashhurst, I might add).
