Holiday Gremlins
Friday, 5 January 2007
Well, it seems the gremlins have hit while I have been on holiday. My website, and those of around 700 others on the same server, was offline for two days due to operating system corruption. Unfortunately, this also meant backups were corrupted, so everything from 18th December until now has been lost.
So, my holiday greetings, New Year’s message and a post about the city council have disappeared into the ether. Such a shame you missed out on such scintillating reading!
This week’s good news
Saturday, 7 May 2005
In information provided by Local Government New Zealand, the Council has been informed that from next year’s budget the rates rebate income level will increase from $7,400 a year to $20,000.
The City Council, along with Local Government New Zealand (LGNZ), has made several submissions to the government seeking to have the limit raised, the last time during the previous term of Council.
At present people whose income is less than $7,400 can qualify for up to $200 off their rates.
Strategy Manager - Finance, Steve Paterson, says the low income level is “totally inadequate and we have argued to increase it to an appropriate level.”

I have just discovered that writing a blog is all very well, but pretty useless unless it gets published. I blame the ‘flu (which is still with me and not improving unfortunately) though my daughter says it is old age catching up with me. Did I tell you I have a very rude daughter?
So, for those of you who are following my blog, the last posts are now where you can see them.
Don’t forget that you can make comments.
Catch you next time.
Lynne
