Mambo Open Source renamed just Mambo

This announcement was made on the Mambo forums yesterday by project leader Robert Castley and sent to all Mambo developers.

After recent negotiations with Miro International Pty. we are pleased to inform the community that Mambo Open Source will be changing the name of the product to 'Mambo'. That's right, the REAL Mambo is called ... 'Mambo'.

While Miro's commercial version (and other Mambo flavours) are differentiated by extended names, we are now able to use the name Mambo by itself.

A great strength of the 'Mambo' brand is in it's name, and this move will ensure our product is not diluted in any way and will reduce the confusion for many when faced with Mambo, Mambo Open Source, MOS etc. The renaming will start to take place with immediate effect and will take a couple of weeks to rollout completely.

MOSForge will be the most significant change as this will be rebranded to be MamboForge. We will ensure that this process causes as little disruption as possible. We will be leaving a redirect from MOSForge to MamboForge in place for the next few months.

We, therefore, ask you the community to support us is this move and also make the necessary changes to your references, bookmarks, sites etc.

So, from now on I will be referring to "Mambo" and trying to get out of the habit of calling it "MOS" or "Mambo Open Source". It's sure faster to write now!
